5 MINUTE GAMES was a company started by Jacob Naasz and Jainan Sankalia using seed money won from a competition. I first encountered them as they were starting up and looking to make a quick entry into a fresh, year-old iPad market. We got together and quickly produced Famished Farm Animal Frenzy, a touch-enabled Hungry Hungry Hippos-like mobile game. We then later took a small one-button game idea by Bobby Frye using the aesthetic of Piet Mondrian's Broadway Boogie Woogie. The one-button nature of launching a block up through a series of obstacles lent itself well to the nature of touch interfaces.

5 Minute Games has been officially dissolved, but the issues we encountered provided many insights into the challenges of working with small teams and mingling friendship with business.
